Aventis Executive Education in Security Operations and Assurance

This module provides an introduction to security operations and assurance of systems, networks, data and user identities, which is an essential aspect of organization and information systems. New threats are emerging as digital technologies permeate into most aspects of work and social life and in transactions between parties opening potential for fraud, deception and corruption. Coverage includes information assurance, incident management, audit and business continuity. The module provides the student with the dynamics of skills and critical thought processes to meet the challenges of emergent Security Operations and Assurance in order to protect the organisation and their business from such perils.

The learner is introduced to the array of legal, standards, compliance and ethical requirements within which any organisation must conform in order to conduct their business and the creative skills needed to produce effective computer systems and policies to guide all stakeholders in order to ensure confidentiality, integrity, availability and continuous business operation. The students will consider new and existing technologies and the array of protection methods and operational working practices in order to be able to provide a comprehensive coordinated set of security operation approaches.

This course aims to develop a professional knowledge of security operations and assurance functions, critical analytical skills for security operations, assurance and audit. Students will also gain the understanding and ability to analyse incident management practices and develop professional skills for the provision of business continuity, disaster recovery and backup.

In this module, we will also cover the following: IISP Security Skill Groups D (Information Assurance Methodologies), F.1 (Incident Management), G (Audit Assurance and Review) and H (Business Continuity Planning and Management), Skills Group D: Information Assurance Methodologies and Testing and Information Assurance Methodologies (D1).

Mr Mohamed Noordin is a Master (Internet Security Management) at Curtin University, Australia. He is the Cofounder of Phishnow, Singapore (Phishing Simulation). Mr Noordin has 10 years of experience specializing in the areas of Cyber security and infrastructure. He is also an Experienced Head of Cyber security & Infrastructure for NTUC Link and NTUC Enterprise. Mr Noordin Conducted many cyber security conferences and closed-door events.
