Transitioning from Individual Contributor to Team Leader

For individual contributors, achieving success relies on their personal efforts and expertise. However, stepping into a leadership role brings a new challenge: achieving results through others. This transition requires mastering the art of managing and leading people, particularly in setting objectives for team members to align with overarching team goals.

This 2-day workshop, based on Days 3 and 4 of Daniel Lee’s renowned 4-day First Time Leadership program, equips new and aspiring leaders with the tools to drive high team performance. Drawn from insights gathered through interviews with 220 leaders across 37 countries, this program dives into the essentials of aligning team roles with organizational strategy, fostering team cohesion, and building personal connections to inspire commitment.

Building Relationships and Driving Performance

Leadership is not just about delegating tasks; it's about creating a shared vision and building relationships that align individual aspirations with team goals. Leaders must understand the organization’s strategic direction and translate it into a compelling team vision. However, team members will only commit if they see personal or professional relevance in that vision. This workshop emphasizes the importance of one-on-one conversations to uncover these aspirations and align them with team objectives.

Participants will also learn how to implement a performance management system, where clear goals are established, performance gaps are addressed, and team members receive regular feedback and coaching. By the end of the workshop, attendees will have clarity and actionable insights to foster high-performing teams that consistently achieve their goals.
