Aventis Executive Certification in Fundamentals of Cyber SecurityThe Aventis Executive Certification in Financial Performance Management has been designed around study and application of tools and techniques that enable the protection of information and other resources for enterprise information systems. Security implementation principles and risk management techniques will be covered. The increase of data storage, manipulation/data processing and transfer of data on computer networks requires the deployment of effective encryption techniques for data at rest and in motion. This module will provide insight into some of these techniques, algorithms and their development through history.

Part of the course is dedicated to the Number Theory relevant to Cryptography; however the focus will be on the analysis, design and implementation of protocols, tools and techniques that achieve the three goals of confidentiality, integrity and availability in secure computing. The module covers symmetric and asymmetric encryption, steganography, principles of cryptanalysis, message confidentiality, message authentication, security protocols (such as IPsec VPNs, SSL/TLS) and security in wireless systems as well as the application of cryptographic techniques to authentication and identity management. The module in Fundamentals of Cyber Security covers in part the IISP security skill groups C (Security Architecture) and E (Operational Security Management). All core modules exercise aspects of J (Professional Skills), in this case particularly the students will undertake some group work.

Fundamentals of Cyber Security aims to give students an understanding of the concepts, mechanisms and processes involved in securing information in enterprise information systems; Students will be equipped with an understanding of the concepts of the Number Theory and its application in Cryptography. This program also provides an in-depth knowledge and training to analyse, design and implement tools and techniques that achieve confidentiality, integrity and availability in security. At the end of the course, students will understand he need for team work and effective communications in developing secure information systems.2023 Course Schedule
