To tackle complex conservation, community engagement, and cross-functional challenges, a leading organisation partnered with Aventis, strengthening its teams’ problem-solving ability, creative thinking, and collaboration to develop innovative solutions that benefit Singapore’s green spaces and the communities who enjoy them.
About the Organisation
The organisation is committed to creating meaningful impact through innovation, sustainability, and community engagement. With a diverse and multidisciplinary team, it focuses on long-term development goals and values continuous improvement through capability building.
A strong emphasis is placed on empowering staff with future-ready skills that foster creative thinking, effective collaboration, and solution-oriented mindsets across the organisation.
The Challenge
As the organisation broadened its impact, it recognised a need to move beyond conventional problem-solving approaches. It aimed to:
- Develop structured yet adaptable frameworks to address complex challenges.
- Generate user-centred, innovative solutions to recurring work issues.
- Apply practical tools to encourage creativity and collaborative thinking across departments.
A hands-on, interactive workshop was sought to equip staff with design thinking skills grounded in real-world, mission-driven contexts.
How Aventis Helped
Aventis co-developed and delivered a 1-day customised workshop on Innovative Problem Solving: Unlocking Creativity Through Design Thinking, facilitated by Human-Centered Design expert Andy Chong.
The session guided 16 participants through a practical problem-solving framework covering empathy, ideation, prototyping, and iteration. Participants engaged in group discussions, live creative challenges, and collaborative exercises that helped them apply design thinking directly to everyday scenarios.
Content was carefully contextualised for the public sector, helping staff adopt a stakeholder-centric mindset and approach their conservation and engagement work with fresh perspectives.
The Results
The workshop sparked noticeable improvements in participants’ creative confidence and collaborative energy.
✅ Key outcomes:
- Stronger grasp of design thinking principles and real-world applications.
- Increased ability to reframe challenges and develop innovative ideas.
