Aventis Workplace Mental Wellness Learning Festival 2022

With the rise of workplace mental wellness conversations in Singapore, Aventis Learning Group, an award-winning corporate training provider understood the value of promoting corporate mental wellness to organisations and individuals. Aventis seized the opportunity to collaborate with Great Place To Work Singapore to organise a virtual learning festival on 25 March 2022. It was focused on the theme of Workplace Mental Wellness. This virtual learning festival explored how organisations could adapt and rethink their approaches to make a genuine commitment to supporting their employees’ mental health and wellbeing at the workplace.

2.     With the strike of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, many employees were reported to be struggling with poor mental health due to numerous concerning factors. There were many underlying triggers that affected the mental health of employees, that included an increased workload, lack of communication due to work-from-home arrangements, and the need to adapt to a new normal of working remotely. Aventis saw the pressing need to support and encourage organisations to maintain their employees’ well being and build resiliency, which would be able to positively enhance the overall performance and productivity at the workplace. Aventis strongly believes that creating a positive and connected workplace directly impacts the overall success of the organisation.

3.     Aventis, together with Great Place To Work, invited five leading wellness practitioners and mindfulness coaches to share some actionable tips and practical strategies to overcome changes, stress and anxiety. There were over 300 attendees who joined this learning festival. The key topics covered in the learning festival were ‘Promoting Psychological First Aid for Mental Wellness’, ‘How to Practise Mindfulness at Work’, ‘Effective Tips to Overcoming Stress and Anxiety at Work’, and ‘Promoting Employee Well-Being at the Workplaces’, and the ‘Employee Assistance Program (EAP)’.

“An open workplace encourages employees to share their concerns and challenges openly, without fearing judgement. It is also where colleagues support each other mentally. Beyond that, a good workplace also provides a platform for employees to share their personal experiences, mental well-being, as well as their personal struggles. These steps are important as it helps them to recognise that it is alright if they are not feeling the best. It will help to eradicate stigmas and support colleagues who are suffering alone,” said Mr Samuel Teo, General Manager of Aventis.

Ms Pamela Sng, Senior Consultant & Research Lead, Great Place To Work also shared, “Employee wellbeing has been a growing area of focus even before the pandemic. The experiences over the past two years have moved to the top of the human capital’s priorities list for many organisations. A lot of focus has been placed on employee wellbeing and ensuring that their employees have work-life balance.”

4.     To support organisations in improving their workplace culture and mental wellness offerings, Aventis Learning Group invested efforts in setting up a new Centre of Wellness and Organisational Psychology, also known as Aventis Wellness, that provides the support organisations need to promote workplace wellness. Aventis Wellness provides bespoke customised Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) solutions to organisations. These solutions include wellness coaching, work-life support, workplace counselling, mental wellness clinic and mindfulness workshop. With the vision of “Healthy Minds, Healthy Workplaces”, Aventis Wellness is committed to helping organisations build strong and healthy workplaces.
