The Art of Profiling: Applying Theories of Personality in and out of the Workplace

Welcome to the Theories of Personality.

Over time there have been multiple great minds who have sought to answer what personality is and what causes personality differences.This course will allow learners to familiarize themselves with a variety of personality theories, their history and application. Questions around personality stability over time and cultural differences will be explored in addition to personality measurement.Theories of personality will provide you with insights into influential personality theories and constructs. Learners will be able to recognize the interaction of situational and individual characteristic on the development of personality. The different theories can be evaluated and provide an introduction to how personality influences behaviors. Topical discussions on nature vs nurture and online personality tests will provide knowledge of the role of personality theory in psychology and everyday actions.

1-Day Theories of Personality Course

This 1-day hands-on practical course will introduce some of the major theories of personality to better explain behaviors across a range of situations. The workshop will explain research methods in personality theories and how empirical studies have been used to test the theories. This course is for anyone wanting to achieve greater insight into psychology and where personality comes from. Anil is currently a Senior Associate Lecturer, Trainer, Academic Coach, and Mental Wellness coach with more than 10 years of experience at various government and private institutions. He is a highly versatile educator and trainer in the areas of Psychology, Sociology, and Public Safety & Security. As a mental wellness coach, Anil is a passionate advocate of mental wellness in schools, workplaces, and personal life. He aspires to motivate organisations and individuals to develop a culture of mental wellness for the staff and clients. Prior to lecturing full-time, Anil was a Community Outreach Manager with the National Addictions Management Service (NAMS), Institute of Mental Health (IMH), and an Executive Director of a community drug rehabilitation centre. Anil holds a Master of Social Sciences from the National University of Singapore, a Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Assessing Adult Learners (SUSS), and a Graduate Certificate in Social Sciences (Professional Counselling) from the Swinburne University of Technology.
