This course will equip you with the principles and practices of strengths-based coaching. You'll learn to identify and leverage individual and team strengths for enhanced performance, engagement, and growth. Through interactive sessions, discussions, and practical application, you'll develop the skills to foster self-awareness, craft strengths-focused conversations, and apply strengths-based models to various coaching contexts, including career development and team dynamics. A pre-course VIA survey is required.

Dr. Phoebe Simmons is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in psychology, coaching, and education. As the Programme Lead for MSc Coaching Psychology at Chichester University, she brings extensive academic and practical experience to the field. Dr. Simmons holds a Doctorate in Coaching and Mentoring from Oxford Brookes University and a BSc Hons in Psychology from The Open University. Her research is centered on how meaning is developed and explored in coaching, and she previously explored strengths-based coaching using the VIA Inventory of Character Strengths. This research, published in the International Journal of Evidence Based Coaching and Mentoring, delved into the lived experiences of individuals who were coached using this inventory. She also has experience as a personal development coach and has served as a Lecturer in Psychology and Criminology at the University of Chichester and an Associate Lecturer at Arden University.
