Aventis Executive Education in Network and Systems Security

This Aventis Executive Education in Network and Systems Security, is an essential program that will provide you with fundamental skills and techniques for securing computer and network systems. We cover well-established security services in computer and network systems while providing necessary on the foundations of computing needed to understand those services. Therefore there are no prerequisites for this module, but we assume that you are at least vaguely familiar with a high-level programming language such as Python, and the fundamental concepts of basic data structures and computer and network systems. The aim of the module is to present the ways in which computer and network systems can be attached and penetrated by exploiting their vulnerabilities. It also aims to introduce different types of security services that have been used to enhance the security of those systems.

The module will cover the following topics: Introduction to computer and network systems and the security issues that arise in these systems; Security services in computer systems: authentication and authorisation and Network security threats and countermeasures: intrusion detection, firewall and IPsec.
