Learning Methodology

This course uses a blended, experiential learning approach grounded in adult learning principles, designed to help participants move from awareness to action within a one-day format. Each methodology supports specific cognitive levels from Bloom’s Taxonomy and encourages active, reflective, and applied learning.

1. Microlearning Inputs

• Brief, focused sessions introduce key concepts such as observation vs. assumption, behavioural indicators, and interpretation strategies. These are designed to spark curiosity and lay the foundation for deeper application. (Remember, Understand)

2. Guided Observation Practice

• Participants observe short role-plays, videos, or live partner interactions using a structured framework. This trains them to notice subtle cues such as energy, tone, timing, and posture without jumping to conclusions. (Apply, Analyse)

3. Live Role-Plays & Scenario Simulations

• Participants rotate through roles (mentor, mentee, observer) to practice adaptive response based on observed behaviour. Realistic, time-bound simulations develop practical skill and confidence. (Apply, Demonstrate)

4. Case-Based Learning

• Participants work in small groups to analyse real-world mentoring, leadership, or family situations where misreading cues led to tension or breakthrough. They propose insight-driven responses using the course framework. (Analyse, Evaluate)

5. Reflective Journaling & Group Debriefs

• Facilitated reflection prompts and team discussions help participants recognize their own patterns of assumption and bias and refine how they engage with others. (Evaluate)

6. Action Planning Workshop

• To close the course, participants design a personalized observation strategy they can implement immediately in mentoring, leadership, or family roles. They receive peer feedback and leave with a clear commitment. (Create)
