As part of its mission to advance sustainable global trade, a prominent non-profit organisation partnered with Aventis to build AI literacy and empower its teams to harness emerging technologies like generative AI — ethically and effectively.
About the Organisation
This international organisation is dedicated to promoting sustainable global trade through research, policy, and education. Its work bridges government, industry, and academia to tackle complex trade issues and develop future-ready solutions.
Recognising the rapid rise of generative AI tools and their growing impact on modern knowledge work, the organisation took proactive steps to equip its teams with the skills and confidence to adopt these technologies responsibly.
The Challenge
While interest in tools like ChatGPT and Microsoft 365 Copilot was high, structured knowledge and practical skills were limited across teams. The organisation needed to:
- Raise AI awareness and confidence among cross-functional, non-technical teams
- Deliver practical, relevant training that demystified AI without overwhelming learners
- Equip staff with ethical, actionable strategies for using AI in research, writing, and policy tasks
The goal was to move beyond curiosity — and build capability that directly supports innovation and productivity.
How Aventis Helped
Aventis designed and delivered a customised half-day workshop on Generative AI for Business Workflows, tailored to the organisation’s global trade and policy context.
Led by expert trainer Melvyn Tan, the session featured:
- Live demonstrations of real-world AI tools
- Hands-on exercises in prompt engineering, content generation, and data summarisation
- Practical use cases for boosting productivity using tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot
Each activity was anchored in the organisation’s actual workflows — ensuring every takeaway was both useful and relevant. The programme also included a strong focus on ethical AI use, giving staff the confidence to experiment thoughtfully and strategically.
The training engaged 46 staff across Hong Kong and Singapore, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across regions.
