Overview

A consortium of key Nigeria’s Ministry of Aviation — including the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) — partnered with Aventis Learning Group to embark on a transformative executive development programme titled The Effect or Application of Artificial Intelligence on an Organisation’s Finance.

This exclusive 4-day workshop, specially curated for senior finance and management professionals within Nigeria’s aviation sector, aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its practical integration into financial management, fraud prevention, compliance, and data-driven decision-making.

The programme was a testament to the Nigerian aviation sector’s forward-thinking commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence and digital innovation to drive operational excellence, financial transparency, and sustainable performance within government institutions

The programme’s structure was built around a four-day intensive training and a one-day cultural and educational tour, with each day focusing on progressive themes:

  • Day 1: Artificial Intelligence Foundations & Team Formation — Understanding artificial intelligence fundamentals and identifying applications in financial and government contexts.
  • Day 2: Blockchain Foundations + Hackathon Kick-off — Exploring blockchain’s potential to revolutionise transparency and audit efficiency in financial systems.
  • Day 3: Artificial Intelligence for Fraud Prevention & Risk Management + Hackathon Prompt Engineering — Applying Artificial Intelligence tools to detect anomalies, manage risks, and mitigate financial fraud.
  • Day 4: Hackathon Development, Presentation & Wrap-up — Teams presented innovative solutions integrating Artificial Intelligence and blockchain in financial workflows.
  • Day 5: Industry & Cultural Learning Tour — Strengthening cross-border collaboration and experiential learning in Singapore’s innovation ecosystem

Throughout the week, participants engaged in group-based hackathon challenges, practical discussions, and reflection exercises that simulated the application of AI-driven tools for financial management and risk mitigation.

Key Outcomes

The training achieved its objective of equipping Nigerian aviation finance leaders with the strategic foresight and digital literacy required to navigate the future of financial management in a data-driven world.
