Fundamentals of FinTech and Blockchain (Live Stream)
Given that Singapore is one of the world’s top four financial centres, it makes sense that we are also blazing the trail when it comes to fintech. In 2015, the government showed how serious they were about establishing Singapore as a “smart financial centre” when the Monetary Authority of Singapore set aside S$225 million for the development of fintech via the Financial Sector Technology and Innovation (FSTI) scheme.
Fintech stands for financial technology. But beyond simply describing the technology that has powered the financial services industry for centuries, it is an umbrella term for innovative and disruptive technologies and startups pushing the financial services industry to improve and become safer, faster, or more efficient. Some of the financial sectors where the role and impact of fintech are growing rapidly include banking, payments, insurance, trading, etc.
Cryptocurrency is used a lot in FinTech to secure sensitive payment transactions when dealing with all financial services. This is where Blockchain technology comes in to ensure that all of the recording information is recorded in a way that makes it difficult or impossible to change, hack, or cheat the system. A blockchain is basically a digital transaction ledger, which is replicated and distributed over the blockchain across the entire computer network.
This course aims to provide a comprehensive guide to its use and understanding of FinTech and Blockchain technology. It will explore cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, payment system technologies and how businesses could integrate technology innovations in financial markets. The objective of this course is to lead your organisation towards a digital transformation through an understanding of FinTech and Blockchain’s key concepts, business models and technologies.
In this course, you will:

“I had the opportunity to attend one of Alvin Lam’s training classes entitled “ITIL Capability: Service Offerings & Agreements” where he provided a detailed walkthrough of the key processes related to ITILService Strategy and to a certain extent ITIL Service Design. The best part of the 5-day course was being able to hear Alvin Lam relate his practical experiences applying these processes, which tremendously allowed us to grasp the concepts better.
