  • Building a financial model which complies with financial modelling best practice

Session 2: Advanced Modelling Techniques for Sensitivity & Scenario Analysis

  • Modelling various sensitivity analysis techniques – which technique is the best?
  • Tornado Chart for determining model drivers that create the most significant impact on financial performance
  • Building a robust what-if / sensitivity analysis dashboard for quick decision making and negotiation
  • Modelling various scenario analysis techniques – which technique is the best?
  • Integrating scenario analysis into the sensitivity analysis dashboard

DAY 2
Session 3: Optimization, Dynamic Chart and Variance Analysis

  • Using Solver for optimising financial performance within the existing constraints:
    • Determining the objective and decision variables
    • Listing the constraints
    • Selecting the solving method
    • Interpreting solver results messages
  • Building a robust variance analysis dashboard for measuring deviation of actual figures from projected figures
  • Using OFFSET, INDEX, MATCH functions and VBA for building a dynamic chart that can be used for displaying the trends of all ratios and performance metrics used in the financial model

Session 4: Case Study

  • In this case study, the participants will use the financial model already equipped with sensitivity & scenario analysis module built in the previous sessions for:
    • Spreading historical / audited financial figures
    • Financial analysis and cash impact analysis
    • Making financial projection assumptions
    • Using stress test for validating your underlying projection assumptions
    • Performing sensitivity analysis

Purwadi Nitimidjojo is the current Director of Business Modelling in Deloitte Indonesia. He is an outstanding financial modeller with more than 25 years of combined experience in corporate banking, corporate leasing/multi-finance debt restructuring and financial modelling.

He led end-to-end development process in models for corporate planning, budgeting, consolidation, project finance, corporate valuation, credit risk analysis, optimization, sensitivity and scenario analysis across numerous institutions. He is an expert in designing proprietary analytical products that meet wide-ranging user needs. He builds analytical and budget models for banks and real sectors using MS Excel, Visual Basic for Applications, Crystal Ball, Crysta Xcelsius and @RISK. He is a seasoned developer and deliverer of financial modelling workshops and training classes for the past 10 years, training finance professionals from over 1,000 corporations
